Lawn Mowing Height in Richmond, British Columbia

Posted by on August 6, 2011

We are often asked the question “how tall should i let my lawn grow and how short should I cut it?”

Generally we suggest letting lawn grow to about 3 – 3.5 inches then cutting it down 1 inch. This allows for the grass blades to provide shade to the soil meaning less foreign seeds will germinate resulting in less weeds. It also retains more moisture making your lawn less susceptible to drought.
